Independence Day & Progress Toward Equal Opportunity

Independence Day is a holiday celebrating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence by the Continental Congress on July 4th, 1776.

Although this day is intended to celebrate equal opportunity and personal freedom "for all" within the U.S., it is important to understand that we still have a long road ahead to make this aspiration a tangible reality for everyone.
