Affirmative Action

The exclusion of Black, brown, indigenous women and other people of color from access to opportunities has a long history in the United States.

Affirmative action is a set of laws and polices put into place to address this discrimination as well as the structural barriers that impact people along the lines of race and gender (ACLU.org).
